Why We Don't Collect Your Data

When we started building Moodz, one of the first decisions we made was about data. Specifically: we didn't want yours.

Not because we're making a grand statement about Big Tech. Just because it didn't feel right. You're using Moodz to reflect on how you feel — your moods, your thoughts, your journal entries. That stuff is personal. It should stay that way.

How It Works

Everything you log in Moodz stays on your device. Your mood entries, your journal, your streaks — all stored locally. We never see it. We can't access it. If you delete the app, it's gone.

For analytics, we use TelemetryDeck — a privacy-first platform that tells us things like how many people opened the app today, without telling us who they are. No user IDs. No device fingerprinting. No tracking between sessions.

We don't run ads. We don't have data partnerships. Moodz Pro at £2.99/month is how we keep the lights on. Simple as that.

Why It Matters

Here's the thing — if you feel like someone might be reading over your shoulder, you hold back. You log "fine" instead of how you actually feel. You skip the journal entry you really needed to write.

Privacy isn't just a policy for us. It's what makes the app actually useful. When you know nobody's watching, you're more honest with yourself. And honesty is the whole point.

What to Look For in Other Apps

We're not here to call anyone out, but if you're using any wellness app, it's worth a quick check:

Where's your data stored? On your device is ideal. "In the cloud" means on someone else's computer.

Check the privacy policy. Look for mentions of third-party analytics, advertising partners, or data sharing. If the policy is 4,000 words long, there's probably a reason.

What happens when you leave? If you delete the app, does your data go with it? It should.
