Moving In

"Is this the right room? Should I knock?" Anxious is standing outside the door, surrounded by boxes, posters on the wall, a welcome mat on the floor. Everything is new and terrifying.

The door opens. "You my new roommate?" Chill is standing there, bubblegum, relaxed, zero stress. "Yes. Hi. Sorry. Yes." Classic Anxious — apologising for existing.

An awkward silence. Chill disappears back inside. Anxious stands there, unsure. Then — "...Shall I come in?" "Sure."

It's not a grand moment. No big speech. Just a door opening, a quiet "sure," and the beginning of something. Because that's how most friendships start — not with fireworks, but with someone nervous enough to show up and someone chill enough to let them in.
