This accessibility statement applies to the Moodz iOS and Android app and the Moodz website at moodz.xyz. It was prepared by the Moodz team based in Portsmouth, UK.
Our Commitment
We want as many people as possible to be able to use Moodz. Emotional wellness should not have barriers. We are committed to making our app and website as inclusive as possible and continually improving the accessibility of our products.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Moodz is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA. We are actively working to address known gaps.
What We Do Well
Visual & Display
- Dark mode is supported — users can switch between light and dark themes within the app
- The app respects the device's system font size settings, allowing users to scale text to their needs
- All interactive buttons and touch targets are designed to be large and easy to tap
- Colour is never the sole means of conveying information — mood states are represented by both characters and labels
Language & Comprehension
- The app is available in six languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German and Japanese
- We use plain, friendly language throughout — no clinical or overly technical terms
- Emotional concepts are explained through illustrated characters, making them more accessible and engaging
Audio & Media
- The app contains no audio-only content — all information is presented visually
- There is no autoplaying media or flashing content that could cause discomfort or trigger photosensitive conditions
Privacy & Safety
- No account is required to use Moodz — reducing barriers to access
- All data stays on your device — we do not collect or store personal information
- Crisis support lines are built into the app's Care page, with localised helplines for the UK, US and other regions
- Stigma-free, inclusive language is used throughout all content
Navigation
- The app uses clear, consistent navigation throughout
- All images include descriptive alt text where appropriate
- Interactive elements have descriptive labels for screen reader compatibility
